Braemar News

Our Year 7 Indonesian students are off to an enthusiastic start.

Here they are performing their first two Indonesian songs in front of the Indonesian flag.

Braemar College has rescheduled some of this week’s programs and events as a result of today’s Total Fire Ban (TFB). Please note the updated arrangements as follows:

Tuesday 31 January

From the bus turning circle, students will be directed to their locker areas / classrooms to drop off their bags.

On Wednesday 8 February 2017, the Year 5 to 12 College House Swimming Carnival will take place at the Sunbury Aquatic Centre, Ligar Street Sunbury. The carnival will commence at 8.30am and conclude at 4.00pm.

Following today’s Total Fire Ban Day, the College will open for the first day of the academic year.

Bus schedules are in place, Organs Coaches should be checked for details.

The program that would be conducted today has been modified slightly and the details have been published.

A day of total fire ban has been declared for the Central District on Monday 30 January 2017. The College will be closed to students.

More details will be sent to students tomorrow, so please check SEQTA. Alternatively contact the College and speak with your Learning Area Leader.

The P and F BBQ has been cancelled.

With an increased enrolment for 2017, we welcomed several new members of staff to Braemar College last week:

Individual, house and family photographs will be taken on Monday 30 January.

Students are expected to adhere to the College’s uniform expectations. The Heads of School have communicated these to parents and students. Note that PE uniform is not required for any of the photographs.

Term 1 commences for all year levels on Monday 30 January with a Day 1 on the College timetable.

Upon arrival at the bus turning circle, students will be directed to classrooms and locker areas to drop off their bags before attending a short Welcome Assembly in Heyward Hall.

Please note this event has been postponed due to today’s TFB.

A Welcome BBQ hosted by the Parents & Friends’ Committee (P&F) will be held at the College for Year 5 and Year 7 students and families on Monday 30 January, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

The Organs buses are almost at capacity this year and there is very little flexibility for students to travel on buses other than the one to which they have been allocated.

We have made every effort to accommodate children from split families who may need to access two bus routes.
